Cook sought to find Terra Australis by circumnavigating the globe eastward in a high southern latitude, and this expedition was the first to cross the Antarctic circle. The expedition was a commission from the Royal Society. A secondary aim was to test marine timekeepers made by Larcum Kendall and John Arnold (see portrait in the British Museum ).
The main purpose of this tour was to search for an unknown continent, Terra Australis, in the Southern Ocean. The voyage was part of the second expedition to the South Pacific led by then-Commander James Cook. It records the journey through the ice fields near Antarctica (see Hodges' drawing in the State Library of New South Wales) and the islands of the South Seas. The astronomer William Bayly compiled this observations book on the voyage of HMS Adventure under the command of Tobias Furneaux from 1772 to 1774. Though I time out when trying to access the forums. I am currently logged in on the mods section of the website. Maybe more I only noticed when I tried to update a mod a week ago. This issue is now a little over 6 days and counting. I cannot access/download NMM from NMM site. I have the version number the Nexus site is showing me, up2d8 or otherwise.(0.63.14 fyi) I cannot update with MM (Cannot get version information). I cannot login with MM as it cannot reach the server. I cannot download mods until Im logged in. Im bringing this here because I cant access the website for Nexus forums.
